Harvard business school event
On a wet and rainy Thursday I popped along to Canary Wharf and discovered that not all investment banks are easy to find nor are they in really tall buildings.
The Harvard business school event wasn’t quite what I was expecting. For a start, no case study method example.
It was very well attended and the audience was more diverse than I was expecting, a lot more undergrads and of people at a very early stage of their thinking about an MBA. The other MBA events I attended had people further along in the journey.
The session also spent a fair amount talking about funding which was useful. We were encouraged to apply to Fulbright scholarships programme and the friends of Harvard business school scholarships. Defiantly something I will look into.
The alumni panel
Wow, they were impressive! Collectively and singularly. One had just launched a new technology company, one was working for m&s and two were in finance. The current student also had a really good presence.
What I learnt
By the end of session it forced me to ask myself why Harvard, really why Harvard. It also identified that in any business school application you really need to identify what you can bring to a learning environment.
Overall, I am still interested in exploring Harvard however I need to reflect whether Harvard is for me.
